The brand began with the Barney, a desert boot on a comfy, casual, skate-able athletic sole, and then expanded into retro sneakers, clogs, and work boots. Similar styles are all widely available now, but, in the early 1990s, Simple was at the forefront, creating its own footwear category. The Barney, O.S. Sneaker, and the Mesa Clog defined the brand and are being brought back to their loyal fan base.
Simple was purchased by a publicly traded company in 2010 and then revitalized by a passionate group of new owners, including early Simple designers, in October of 2014.
